Staff Attorney - Remote

Overview

The Staff Attorney will provide expert legal services to unaccompanied children needing legal representation, including mentoring pro bono attorneys and direct legal representation.

In Short

• Provide mentoring and direct legal representation to KIND clients.
• Consult and assist pro bono attorneys with their cases.
• Conduct client interviews and draft court pleadings.
• Supervise interns and non-attorney staff.
• Build relationships with the pro bono community.
• Help develop training resources for pro bono attorneys.
• Participate in office functioning and meetings.
• Ensure accurate case data entry into management systems.
• Represent KIND at local coalitions and courts.

Requirements

• J.D. and admitted to the local state bar.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.
• 1 year of experience in immigration law.
• Experience working with vulnerable populations.
• Strong cultural competence and communication skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work with diverse backgrounds.
• Experience in a remote environment preferred.
