In Short

• Serve as a strategic advisor to the Leadership Team on Data Privacy, Product, AI Governance, Corporate Governance, and Commercial Law.
• Lead and develop the Legal and InfoSec teams.
• Oversee legal services delivery and implement effective risk management techniques.
• Provide guidance to R&D teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Own corporate governance efforts and maintain training programs.
• Partner with Commercial Counsel to negotiate enterprise-level customer agreements.
• Champion Karat's mission to provide efficient and equitable interview experiences.

Requirements

• J.D. degree from an accredited law school and active bar admission in at least one U.S. state.
• 10+ years of legal experience with significant in-house experience.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing Legal teams.
• Excellent business judgment and ability to balance risk-reward.
• Exceptional communication skills to articulate legal issues to diverse audiences.
• Experience building or scaling legal operations in a growth-stage technology company.
• Deep expertise in privacy program development and implementation.
• Experience with AI governance and emerging technology legal frameworks.
• Track record of building diverse, inclusive teams.
