Senior Employment Counsel - APAC - Remote

Overview

The Senior Employment Counsel - APAC will guide and implement the legal strategy for Justworks' EOR product, ensuring compliance with local labor laws while collaborating with various internal teams.

In Short

• Analyze legal risks and advise on compliant hiring across APAC.
• Partner with teams to establish risk frameworks and compliance policies.
• Draft and negotiate commercial contracts.
• Manage external counsel and legal matters.
• Support Sales and Customer Success teams with employment requests.
• Educate stakeholders on legal matters affecting the business.
• Prepare training for legal and compliance issues.
• Assist in resolving employment-related disputes.
• Drive compliance awareness across the organization.
• Some travel may be required.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree.
• Minimum of 5 years of legal experience in employment matters.
• Experience with EOR operations is a plus.
• Strong understanding of APAC employment laws.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage complexity and multitask.
• Collaborative team player with a positive attitude.
• Fluency in English; proficiency in another language is a plus.
• Experience in managing and mentoring legal professionals.
• Strong leadership skills.
