Overview

This position is for a working student interested in mergers and acquisitions (M&A), digitalization, and the medium-sized business sector. You will gain practical experience in identifying and evaluating companies for potential acquisition.

In Short

• Conduct market and industry analyses
• Support the development of a systematic longlist of potential target companies
• Identify key individuals within companies and prepare initial contact
• Analyze publicly available information for company assessments
• Contribute to the development of data-driven sourcing processes
• Structure insights into clear reports and maintain sourcing databases
• Work in a hybrid setup with both remote and in-office collaboration
• Gain insights into the M&A process beyond traditional internship experiences

Requirements

• Advanced studies in business, engineering, or information sciences
• Strong analytical skills and a structured, precise work style
• Interest in M&A, business succession, and the German middle market
• Familiarity with digital tools and automation technologies
• Excellent communication skills in German (C2) and English (min. C1)
• Availability of 10-20 hours per week for at least three months
• Presence in the Munich office on a fixed weekday for team collaboration
