Remote Staff Data Engineer

Overview

This position is for a Staff Data Engineer who will be the first dedicated Data Engineer on a hybrid team, focusing on defining data operations within a platform to enhance healthcare services.

In Short

• Design, build, and maintain scalable ELT pipelines for data ingestion.
• Architect data pipelines in AWS.
• Write and maintain infrastructure-as-code for workflows.
• Use Dagster for orchestrating pipeline execution.
• Implement data quality checks across pipelines.
• Identify and resolve systemic failure modes.
• Collaborate with Analytics Engineers.
• Set technical direction for data architecture.
• Mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• 7–10+ years of data engineering experience.
• Proficient in Python and SQL.
• Experience with AWS services.
• Familiarity with event-driven ingestion systems.
• Proficient in data orchestration tools like Dagster.
• Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code principles.
• Experience with Snowflake.
• Proficient in at least one scripting language.
• Strong understanding of software engineering practices.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
