Accounting & Compliance Lead - Remote

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Accounting & Compliance Lead to oversee our bookkeeping, accounting, tax compliance, and financial reporting functions. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), this role will be responsible for leading a team of bookkeepers and accountants to ensure accurate financial records, timely tax filings, and full regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in various types of taxation, including corporate taxes, indirect taxes (VAT/GST), payroll taxes, and international tax regulations.

• Lead and manage a team of bookkeepers and accountants.
• Ensure accurate and timely bookkeeping and financial record-keeping.
• Oversee tax compliance with corporate tax, VAT/GST, and payroll tax.
• Prepare and present financial statements and tax reports.
• Implement financial controls and oversee accounts payable processes.
• Provide training and mentorship for team members.
• Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations.
• Collaborate with the CFO on budgeting and financial planning.
• Maintain good relationships with suppliers and tax authorities.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in accounting or financial management.
• Proven experience in handling various types of taxation.
• Strong leadership experience in managing a team.
• Excellent knowledge of tax regulations and accounting principles.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, SAP).
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
