Overview

The Workforce Specialist at the Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization (IRCO) plays a vital role in assisting newly arrived refugees achieve employment and self-sufficiency through personalized support and guidance.

In Short

• Assist refugees in obtaining employment and career development services.
• Conduct initial intake and assess participant needs.
• Develop Individual Employment Plans for job seekers.
• Communicate regularly with participants to track progress.
• Coordinate services with outside providers and employers.
• Conduct job marketing and searches for clients.
• Provide training and orientation for newly hired clients.
• Maintain case notes and progress reports.
• Work in a hybrid schedule with both in-office and remote work.
• Engage in professional development and community activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• High proficiency in English and Spanish; other languages preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
• Experience with vocational counseling for diverse populations.
• Knowledge of local job market and employer concerns.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
• Experience in job search development preferred.
