Overview

The Clinical Counselor will provide essential counseling services to military personnel and their families, ensuring mental health support in diverse environments.

In Short

  • Provide assessment and short-term counseling services.
  • Ensure referrals for psychological follow-up as needed.
  • Coordinate services for at-risk children.
  • Report suspected abuse to authorities.
  • Participate in quality assurance procedures.

  • Work autonomously and maintain clinical credentials.
  • Engage with military families and understand their needs.
  • Possess strong communication and advocacy skills.

Requirements

  • Current clinical license for independent practice.
  • Master's or doctoral degree in relevant field.
  • Two years of supervised clinical experience.
  • Understanding of military lifestyle and family programs.
  • Knowledge of child and domestic abuse issues.
  • Familiarity with FFSMIS system is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Advocacy knowledge for diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work with military and civilian agencies.
