Medical Doctor - Remote

Overview

The Medical Doctor will be part of a health team supporting the implementation of the IRC’s primary health program in Afghanistan, ensuring high-quality primary healthcare and reproductive health services.

In Short

• Provide direct clinical care at the IRC fixed health clinic.
• Manage medical emergencies and ensure quality care delivery.
• Oversee health clinic operations and staff training.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and proper documentation.
• Engage with local communities and government agencies.
• Implement infection prevention and control measures.
• Support health promotion and community mobilization.
• Monitor and report on health service data.
• Provide mentorship and on-the-job training to staff.
• Ensure adherence to IRC's professional standards and values.

Requirements

• Qualified Medical Doctor licensed to practice in Afghanistan.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• At least 2 years of clinical experience in primary healthcare.
• Ability to work under pressure in stressful environments.
• Familiarity with local languages and culture.
• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
• Strong interpersonal skills and team player.
• Self-motivated with strong reporting skills.
• Ability to maintain beneficiary confidentiality.
• Fluency in Pashto, Dari, and English is an asset.
