Overview

The Midwife is a vital member of the IRC mobile health team, responsible for implementing primary healthcare activities and delivering high-quality Emergency Reproductive Health services.

In Short

  • Provide direct clinical care and support to health clinical staff.
  • Ensure delivery of comprehensive primary healthcare services.
  • Conduct triage, screening, and assessment of patients.
  • Perform basic and assisted delivery care.
  • Provide antenatal and postnatal care.
  • Conduct health education and patient counselling.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and reports.
  • Work collaboratively with community volunteers.
  • Adhere to infection prevention and control measures.
  • Report safety and security concerns proactively.

Requirements

  • Qualified Midwifery diploma/certificate.
  • At least 2 years of clinical midwifery experience.
  • Experience in care for sexual assault survivors is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work under pressure in challenging conditions.
  • Fluency in Pashto/Dari is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and team spirit.
  • Ability to adapt to cultural and political environments.
  • Willingness to work irregular hours.
