Building Code Specialist - Product Development - Remote

Overview

The Building Code Specialist is responsible for developing technical content for ICC codes support publications, presenting seminars, and ensuring the quality of publications and training content.

In Short

• Develop technical content and author publications for I-Codes and Standards.
• Present seminars both online and onsite with potential travel.
• Review technical content developed by others.
• Ensure accuracy of published technical materials.
• Serve as a technical resource for ICC departments and customers.
• Meet project benchmarks and deadlines.
• Represent ICC at meetings and conferences.
• Participate in internal and external committees.
• Perform other assigned technical and administrative duties.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of I-Codes, especially International Residential Code and International Building Code.
• Previous residential construction experience is desired but not required.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.
• Effective presentation skills, both face-to-face and online.
• Willingness to travel nationally and internationally.
• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, or construction science preferred.
• ICC Certification in one or more ICC codes preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in a related field.
• Strong team player with sound knowledge of construction codes.
