Head of Data Science / Machine Learning - Remote

Overview

Instawork is seeking an innovative and hands-on Head of Data Science / Machine Learning to help create economic opportunities for businesses and local professionals globally through AI and machine learning.

In Short

• Lead a small team of ML engineers and grow a global team.
• Spend 70% of your time hands-on building/integrating new models.
• Define ML strategy and manage the team 30% of the time.
• Optimize the team for speed and impact.
• Own a portfolio of platforms for execution like MLOps and data transformation pipelines.
• Deliver best-in-class technical approach and problem analysis documents.
• Work closely with Product to refine the roadmap.
• Build/maintain reports and dashboards to monitor product performance.
• Create a data-driven culture across the company.
• Provide mentorship/feedback to analysts and data-minded stakeholders.

Requirements

• BA/BS in Math, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, or other quantitative fields.
• 12-15+ years of experience in quantitative analysis and ML production.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with startup and large scale experience.
• Expert level fluency in Python & SQL.
• Strong understanding of machine learning techniques.
• Experience with BI tools (e.g. Mode, Tableau, Looker).
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Past experience as a technical lead or manager.
• Working knowledge of web/mobile architectures and CI/CD processes.
• Strong understanding of DBT or similar methodologies.

• Base salary of $230,000 - $265,000.
