Nature and Gender Specialist - Remote

Overview

The Nature and Gender Specialist will support the implementation of UNDP's Nature Pledge in the Africa region, focusing on gender equality and environmental sustainability.

In Short

• Provide strategic guidance and technical expertise on the Nature Pledge.
• Develop the Nature Pledge Regional Activation Plan for Africa.
• Enhance coordination among regional and country teams.
• Build strategic partnerships for Nature Pledge implementation.
• Provide technical support to UNDP Country Offices.
• Facilitate knowledge sharing and capacity building.
• Engage with stakeholders to raise awareness about the Nature Pledge.
• Support resource mobilization for Nature Pledge activities.
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of initiatives.
• Conduct training on biodiversity conservation and gender equality.

Requirements

• Advanced degree in Environmental Science, Gender and Development, or related field.
• 5-7 years of experience in international development and gender equality.
• Experience working with developing country governments.
• Extensive experience in project development and management.
• Fluency in English and French.
• Experience in Africa, particularly the Sahel region.
• Proven project management and partnership experience.
• Ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
