Senior Software Developer (Scala) - Remote

Overview

This position is for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Automotive Continuity team, focusing on building high throughput, highly available microservices and APIs for a major music streaming company.

In Short

• Join the backend/API team focusing on managing and debugging APIs and microservices.
• Support a maintenance squad for bug handling and system reliability.
• Work in a monolithic and distributed systems environment emphasizing RESTful API performance.
• Take ownership of tickets and services independently.
• Demonstrate strong remote communication skills.
• Participate in on-call rotation and code maintenance activities.

Requirements

• BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Minimum of five years of professional experience.
• Expertise in Scala and Java.
• Familiarity with functional programming and Spring Boot.
• Experience designing RESTful web APIs.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle and CI/CD.
• Experience with high-throughput distributed systems.
• Proficiency in AWS microservices.
• Experience with Docker and asynchronous programming models.
• Excellent communication skills and sense of ownership.
• Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
