Field Service Engineer - Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) - Remote

Overview

Join Hitachi Energy as a GIS Field Service Engineer/Site Manager, where you'll lead the charge on construction sites, overseeing the installation, modification, and repair of high voltage equipment.

In Short

• Lead technical field assignments and make critical decisions.
• Direct the work of field teams and subcontractors.
• Manage productivity to ensure timely project completion.
• Ensure adherence to drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Promote safe practices and meet health, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Supervise the installation and commissioning of high voltage GIS substations.
• Conduct frequent inspections and document pertinent information.
• Plan, schedule, and lead on-site weekly progress meetings.
• Perform and document field testing on equipment.
• Travel extensively (80%), including occasional trips to Canada and Mexico.

Requirements

• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitudes.
• Trade education and experience in Industrial Mechanic and Electrical trades.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in service or construction management.
• Hands-on experience in substation construction, servicing, and commissioning.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and MS Project.
• Valid US driver's license and work authorization.
• Fluent in English with strong communication skills.
• OSHA 10 training completion certificate or ability to acquire.
