Overview

The Virtual Patient Monitor position involves continuous observation and surveillance of multiple patients across the AHN network to ensure their safety and comfort.

In Short

  • Provide continuous monitoring of patients via a central command center.
  • Utilize patient monitoring software to observe patient behavior.
  • Communicate patient needs to nursing staff promptly.
  • Participate in identifying and reporting patient safety issues.
  • Maintain a safe environment by identifying potential hazards.
  • Provide explanations to patients while respecting their privacy.
  • Demonstrate safe work practices and adhere to safety rules.
  • Work independently while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Use de-escalation techniques in stressful situations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to monitor multiple patients simultaneously.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Critical thinking and decisive judgment skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in stressful situations.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
  • Previous patient care experience is a plus.
