Overview

The Nursing Professional Development Specialist is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating educational activities for nursing staff, ensuring that educational needs are met effectively.

In Short

  • Assess and evaluate educational programs for nursing staff.
  • Collaborate with leadership to implement quality improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as an educational consultant for clinical practice and professional development.
  • Coordinate orientation programs for new staff.
  • Conduct learning needs assessments with leadership and staff.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards in education.
  • Perform direct patient care as required.
  • Maintain current nursing licensure and certifications.
  • Adhere to ethical and legal standards in healthcare.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing or Education or relevant experience.
  • Current PA RN licensure.
  • 2 years of relevant clinical experience.
  • 2 years of education/training experience.
  • CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Preferred CPR instructor certification.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to develop educational materials and programs.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance in healthcare.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
