Overview

The Medical Assistant will assist in coordinating the examination, treatment, and health care planning for patients while supporting office operations.

In Short

  • Assists in the coordination of patient care under supervision.
  • Prepares and rooms patients according to standardized workflows.
  • Obtains and documents patient vital signs and history.
  • Assists in administration of screenings and procedures.
  • Documents accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Ensures medical supplies are stocked and treatment areas are maintained.
  • Communicates test results to patients under provider direction.
  • May require floating between physician office locations.
  • Adheres to HIPAA and company policies.
  • Completes certification training within specified timeframes.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant Program or relevant experience.
  • CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Background clearance certifications.
  • Must obtain Medical Assistant Certification within 120 days of hire.
  • Preferred: Associate's Degree.
