Overview

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) provides essential emergency medical care to patients in both prehospital and hospital settings, ensuring effective communication with all relevant departments.

In Short

• Drives emergency vehicle.
• Determines nature and extent of illness or injury.
• Provides basic life support and transport to critically ill and injured patients.
• Completes required documentation according to regulatory standards.
• Maintains equipment and inventory of supplies.
• Accountable for medications on every EMS unit.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Requires PA EMT certification within 30 days of hire.
• Must have a valid Driver's License and CPR certification.
• Preferred six months’ experience in prehospital care.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• One to three months related experience or training.
• ITLS/PHTLS, ABLS, ASLS certifications preferred.
• Act 34, Act 33, and Act 73 Criminal Background Clearances.
