Overview

The Echocardiography Technologist performs echocardiographic procedures, assists with transesophageal procedures, and supports cardiologists in various imaging studies while ensuring compliance with ICAEL standards.

In Short

  • Perform M-Mode, 2D, color flow, and Doppler echocardiograms.
  • Assist with transesophageal echocardiograms and stress echocardiograms.
  • Provide preliminary analysis of echocardiograph results.
  • Maintain equipment and ensure quality control procedures are followed.
  • Administer contrast imaging when necessary.
  • Operate ultrasound systems and enter data accurately.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and infection prevention standards.
  • Maintain adequate supplies for department operations.
  • Assist with cardiac exercise testing and nuclear cardiology.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent education/experience.
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or equivalent certification.
  • CPR Certification from the American Heart Association.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience preferred.
  • Compliance with various background clearance requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and accurately.
  • Familiarity with ultrasound imaging protocols.
  • Strong communication and patient interaction skills.
  • Attention to detail in performing imaging procedures.
  • Willingness to obtain necessary certifications within specified time frames.
