Overview

The CT Technologist at UMass Memorial Health is responsible for providing high-quality care and performing CAT scans while ensuring patient comfort and safety.

In Short

• Provides care for psychological and physical needs of patients during CAT scans.
• Prepares patients for exams and ensures comfort.
• Operates CT Scanner for interventional studies.
• Assists Radiologist during procedures.
• Maintains accurate patient records and documents CT information.
• Stocks and cleans scanner rooms.
• Trains new CT Technologists and students.
• Complies with health and safety regulations.
• Participates in departmental meetings and quality improvement.
• Maintains work area in clean and orderly condition.

Requirements

• ARRT certification in Radiology required.
• RTR licensure in Commonwealth Massachusetts required.
• CT modality certification within 1 year of employment.
• BLS certification required.
• Physical ability to lift and move patients as necessary.
• Knowledge of ALARA principles of Radiation Protection.
• Ability to work night shifts.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to patient care and safety.
• Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
