The Discharge Registered Nurse in the Postpartum and Newborn Nursery at West Penn Hospital is responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing nursing care for postpartum patients and their newborns. This role includes developing discharge plans, providing education, and ensuring seamless transitions of care.

Requirements

  • Current State of PA RN licensure or multi-state licensure.
  • CPR certification.
  • Act 34, 33, and 73 clearances.
  • Experience in postpartum and newborn care preferred.
  • Strong communication and patient education skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Knowledge of medication management and patient safety protocols.
  • Experience in risk assessment and intervention strategies.
