Overview

The Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) provides emergency medical care to sick and injured patients in both prehospital and hospital environments, ensuring effective communication with all involved in emergency medical care.

In Short

• Drives emergency vehicle and provides advanced life support.
• Determines nature and extent of illness or injury.
• Completes required documentation according to regulatory standards.
• Maintains equipment and inventory of supplies.
• Has accountability for medications on EMS units.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and AEMT certification.
• Requires CPR certification and background clearances.
• Preferred experience in prehospital care.
• Compliance with HIPAA and company policies is mandatory.

Requirements

• Minimum High school diploma or GED.
• 1-3 months related experience or equivalent education.
• PA AEMT EMSVO within 30 days of hire.
• Valid Driver's License.
• CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
• Act 34, 33, and 73 background clearance certificates.
• Preferred ITLS/PHTLS, ABLS, ASLS certifications.
• 1 year experience in the field of prehospital care is preferred.
