Overview

The Hartford’s Middle & Large Business (MLB) IT Team is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Software Engineer to design and develop new capabilities for existing applications, enhancing customer experience and accelerating speed to market.

In Short

• Design, build, and maintain end-to-end solutions using Java, Oracle, and UNIX.
• Develop APIs and Web Services (SOAP/REST) with Java Spring Boot.
• Contribute to cloud migration efforts in AWS.
• Apply front-end development skills using Angular or React.
• Collaborate with architects to ensure application integrity.
• Participate in security assessments and remediation.
• Engage with teams across billing and premium audit.
• Implement monitoring and observability for system issues.
• Mentor team members on development best practices.
• Drive innovation to solve customer problems.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with Java and J2EE technologies.
• Strong experience with API development and integration.
• Proficiency in AWS cloud services.
• Front-end development experience with Angular or React.
• Solid understanding of software architecture and security.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong leadership and collaboration skills.
• Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
