Lead Software Engineer - Remote

In Short

• Build and extend core services and user-facing experiences across Grove’s commerce platform.
• Partner closely with product, stakeholders, and engineering peers.
• Drive architectural decisions across our hybrid Shopify + custom eCommerce platform.
• Deliver performant, reliable, and accessible customer experiences.
• Write, review, and guide code across the stack.
• Design and implement architecture with a primary focus on Python/Django, PostgreSQL, TypeScript, and React.
• Champion best practices in testing, documentation, and the full software development lifecycle.

Requirements

• 11+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in a scripting language.
• Ecommerce experience, ideally with the Shopify ecosystem.
• Sound architectural judgment.
• Deep hands-on experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL).
• API design expertise (GraphQL and/or REST).
• Experience operating services in AWS and Kubernetes.
• Strong ownership and product sense.
• A collaborative leader and mentor.
• Alignment with Grove’s mission and sustainability values.
