Associate Counsel - Remote

Overview

GEICO is looking to hire an Associate Counsel to defend lawsuits filed in New York courts and other first party insurance defense.

In Short

• Defend lawsuits in New York courts.
• Research laws and prepare legal briefs.
• Render opinions on liability and damages.
• Prepare and handle pleadings and motions.
• Attend trials, hearings, and depositions.
• 2 to 6+ years of litigation experience required.
• Must hold a Juris Doctor degree.
• Admission to the New York Bar is required.
• Must be able to document files clearly and concisely.
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills needed.

Requirements

• Experience in insurance defense and/or personal injury.
• Must be licensed in good standing to practice law in New York.
• Willingness to travel as required.
• Ability to communicate professionally in various formats.
• Preferred civil litigation experience.
