Java Developer - Remote

Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring for a Java Developer to support the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) to provide DevOps Support and Enhancements to PBGC's enterprise IT systems under the EBTS portfolio. The application developer is a dynamic member of the agile team who is comfortable with both front and back end programming.

In Short

• Analyze, design, develop and test enterprise-wide web applications using Java and JavaScript.
• Support a full system development agile lifecycle using CI/CD and DevSecOps practices.
• Understand and use enterprise standards and best practices around coding and application design.
• Translate business requirements into efficient solutions.
• Communicate with product owners and teammates for problem resolution.
• Proactively identify solutions as a team member and mentor.
• Learn and adopt new technologies quickly.
• Design and implement Java-based applications.
• Analyze user requirements for application design.
• Debug and resolve technical problems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field with 12+ years in IT.
• 8+ years of Java development with strong J2EE and frameworks like Spring and Hibernate.
• Experience with Oracle WebLogic and Oracle 19c DB.
• Extensive experience in Agile methodologies.
• Strong programming skills in Java, Spring Framework, ReactJS, and RESTful APIs.
• Knowledge of front-end languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Experience with CI/CD and DevSecOps technologies.
• Working experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Clearance Required: Must be able to acquire and maintain a PBGC public trust.
