Financial Controller - Remote

Overview

As a Financial Controller at GoMaterials, you will take full ownership of our general ledger accounting operations and drive automation and efficiency in financial processes.

In Short

• Own accounting operations including general ledger, payroll, and tax compliance.
• Ensure timely month-end and year-end close with automation-driven improvements.
• Prepare and present financial statements in compliance with ASPE.
• Establish and improve internal accounting controls.
• Manage compliance for payroll and sales tax across Canada and the U.S.
• Liaise with auditors and tax advisors for annual audits.
• Champion technology optimization and process automation.
• Mentor and develop the finance team.

Requirements

• CPA designation required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 6–8 years of progressive experience in accounting/finance.
• Strong command of ASPE accounting.
• Experience managing full-cycle accounting and audit processes.
• Experience implementing automation and ERP systems.
• Expert-level Excel skills; knowledge of SQL or PowerQuery is a plus.
• Bilingual (English & French) preferred.
• Strong analytical and leadership skills.
