Financial Controller - Remote

The Financial Controller will oversee accounting functions, ensure compliance with GAAP, manage financial reporting and audits, and implement strong internal controls. In Short

• Lead month-end and year-end close processes, delivering accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
• Manage the annual external audit and coordinate all tax, compliance, and grant reporting requirements.
• Oversee accounting operations including cash management, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll review.
• Establish and enforce accounting policies, driving scalable process improvements.
• Design and maintain a robust internal control framework and lead risk mitigation efforts.
• Manage and mentor a small accounting team, fostering a supportive and mission-driven culture.
• Collaborate with leadership to support financial planning, compliance, and operational goals.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
