• Lead and mentor a team of 5 AI Product Designers.
• Define and execute the design strategy for AI products across GitLab’s platform.
• Partner with Product Management and Engineering to shape AI product roadmaps.
• Establish design standards and best practices for AI experiences.
• Conduct user research and usability testing for AI interactions.
• Contribute to GitLab’s Pajamas Design System with AI-specific components.
• Collaborate across product stages to identify AI integration opportunities.
• Present design strategies to executive leadership.
• Foster a user-centered design culture within the team.
• Work remotely with teams across multiple time zones.

Requirements

• Experience as a Product Designer and managing design teams.
• Experience leading design for AI/ML products.
• Strong understanding of DevSecOps and developer workflows.
• Proven track record of scaling design teams.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Background in user research for technical audiences.
• Experience working with engineering teams on technical constraints.
• Successful cross-functional collaboration in product development.
