Security Systems Administrator - Remote

Overview

Geotab is seeking a Security Systems Administrator who will be accountable for the implementation, installation/deployment and monitoring of Geotab’s new Information Security systems.

In Short

• Maintain overall security of Geotab network for all servers, network peripherals, and workstations.
• Collaborate with internal security teams to plan and implement security policies.
• Research, test, and roll out new Information Security systems.
• Manage vulnerability scanning systems and ensure systems are patched and updated.
• Monitor and follow up on malware issues.
• Compile and maintain up-to-date documentation on all areas of responsibility.
• Automate repetitive tasks with scripting languages/tools (e.g. Powershell, Python).
• Configure and apply permissions in Google Compute Engine or other systems.
• Configure Firewalls and work with DevOps to automate Firewall configuration.
• Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotating schedule.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in a Systems Administrator role with a focus on Security Information Systems.
• Post-Secondary Diploma/Degree or equivalent experience required.
• Experience with Cloud Computing solutions (GCP, AWS).
• Skilled with scripting languages (e.g. Python).
• Previous exposure to Postgres, SQL Server, and/or Google BigQuery.
• Professional certification in IT/Security (e.g. Security+, MSCE, Network+) is an asset.
• High accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to problem-solve.
• Technical competence using software programs, including Google Suite for business.
