Overview

The Thermal Systems Simulation Integration Engineer is responsible for leading the integration of full-vehicle cross-functional co-simulation packages for Thermal Systems and related disciplines, working collaboratively with various engineering teams.

In Short

  • Lead full-vehicle co-simulation integration for ICE, HEV, and BEV models.
  • Develop cross-functional packages for Battery, Driveline, Vehicle Dynamics, and Thermal Systems.
  • Conduct virtual simulations for cooling systems and validate thermal protection strategies.
  • Lead energy consumption simulations to meet performance targets.
  • Verify CFD and 1D model accuracy using geometry from Teamcenter and RTC.
  • Champion virtual methods for vehicle design across engineering disciplines.
  • Identify strategic innovation opportunities for advanced simulation procedures.
  • Enforce governance standards and documentation via version control systems.
  • Guide vehicle design through scenario analysis and simulation-led recommendations.
  • Ability to travel 5% of the time for testing facilities.

Requirements

  • BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Software Engineering, or relevant degree.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in Thermal Systems modeling.
  • Familiarity with CFD tools like STAR-CCM+, FLUENT, and SIMERICS.
  • Experience with CAE tools such as GT-Power, AMESIM, and MATLAB/SIMULINK.
  • Proven ability to work in teams and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to travel domestically for testing facilities.
