Director of Government Affairs - West - Remote

Overview

The Director of Government Affairs (West) will play a critical role in securing and expanding GeneDx’s leadership position in the genetic testing market, focusing on exome and genome sequencing.

In Short

• Develop and lead the GeneDx government affairs strategy across the Western US.
• Serve as the government affairs subject matter expert within the Market Access Team.
• Build and nurture relationships with government officials and industry groups.
• Represent GeneDx in key policy discussions with lawmakers.
• Manage relationships with lobbyists to drive legislative goals.
• Track key bills and inform the company about their impact.
• Collaborate with patient advocacy organizations and healthcare providers.
• Supervise external consultants and lobbying partners.
• Minimum 7-8 years of experience in US Government Affairs focused on healthcare.
• Strong knowledge of Medicaid coverage and funding mechanisms.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in political science, Public Policy, or a related field preferred.
• Experience in laboratory, genomics, and/or rare disease is highly preferred.
