Overview

The Director of Government Affairs will lead KoBold’s engagement with the U.S. Government, identifying opportunities for executive and legislative engagement and telling KoBold’s story to senior leaders and policymakers in Congress, defense, and national security.

In Short

  • Serve as KoBold’s principal liaison to members of Congress and staff.
  • Lead KoBold’s legislative outreach with key stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the Executive Branch.
  • Lead strategic work on KoBold’s contributions to U.S. national security.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to tell KoBold’s story.
  • Develop strategies to advance KoBold’s initiatives in the critical mineral sector.
  • Coordinate congressional visits to KoBold projects.
  • Monitor and analyze policy developments affecting the mineral exploration industry.
  • Ensure compliance with ethical standards and laws.
  • Be a utility player and do whatever needs to be done.

Requirements

  • Ten years of experience in public policy or government relations.
  • Strong relationships with policymakers and officials.
  • Experience advancing U.S. national security.
  • Proven record of accomplishing goals at the federal level.
  • Curiosity and drive to learn about mineral exploration and technology.
  • Credibility in areas like critical minerals and energy transition.
  • Commitment to high ethical standards.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to develop and execute strategy collaboratively.
