Staff Accountant - Reconciliations - Remote

Overview

We are seeking a Staff Accountant II to join our growing Controllership team at Galileo, a financial technology company that provides innovative software products and services.

In Short

• Perform daily, weekly, monthly detailed account reconciliations.
• Assist in monthly and year-end close processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to clear reconciling items.
• Streamline reconciliation processes and improve automation.
• Analyze accounts and ensure accuracy in reconciliations.
• Prepare workpapers explaining issues and procedures.
• Perform analytical review of Balance Sheet and Income Statement.
• Work closely with various departments to ensure proper transaction recording.
• Prepare ad-hoc reports and analyses as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
• Applied knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accounting procedures.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Proactive and self-driven with a desire to learn.
• Strong knowledge of accounting theory and practice.
• Computer skills including Excel and general ledger systems.
• Experience with Workday Financials is a plus.
• CPA certification is a plus.
• Audit experience is beneficial.
