AVP, Financial Controls Specialist - Remote

Overview

The AVP, Financial Controls Specialist specializes in the establishment and maintenance of the Company’s Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR) Program in accordance with applicable Standards and Guidance issued by the SEC and the Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002 (SOX).

In Short

• Lead areas of the annual ICFR Program risk assessment and scoping process.
• Partner with the Business to support remediation of deficiencies.
• Engage with internal and external auditors to promote efficiencies.
• Develop ICFR Program communications for stakeholders.
• Assist in developing internal controls testing function.
• Seek uniformity and automation of controls across the Company.
• Support core values by communicating effectively across cultures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting.
• CPA, Chartered Accountant or equivalent.
• Six or more years of experience in the Life & Annuities industry.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and US Statutory Accounting Principles.
• Clear and professional verbal and written communications.
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
• Ability to design and present information effectively.
• Ability to define problems and draw conclusions.
• Agility to work both as part of a team and independently.
• Stay current on best practices regarding processes and controls.
