Salon is seeking a passionate and deeply experienced Senior Editor to lead and reimagine opinion coverage for our audience of over 10 million monthly unique visitors, overseeing critical commentary on national affairs and politics.

Requirements

• 7+ years of journalism experience, with 2+ years as a commentary editor.
• Expertise in national affairs and cultural trends.
• Strong editing, fact-checking, and proofreading skills.
• Knowledge of journalism standards and best practices.
• Understanding of Salon’s voice and mission.
• Proficiency in digital analytics and CMS platforms.
• Ability to integrate feedback and provide editorial direction.
• Effective communication and time management skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training.

Benefits

• Full-time salaried position with a salary range of $81,000 - $90,000.
• Unlimited PTO.
• Coverage under the Writers Guild of America, East Collective Bargaining Agreement.
• Regular Monday-Friday schedule with occasional evening/weekend work.
