Remote Bankruptcy Paralegal

Overview

Equivity is seeking an experienced Remote Bankruptcy Paralegal to support attorneys handling both consumer and business bankruptcy matters, including Chapters 7, 11, and 13.

In Short

• Draft and file Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 petitions, schedules, statements, and related pleadings.
• Support Chapter 11 matters, including preparation of voluntary petitions, schedules, statements of financial affairs, monthly operating reports, disclosure statements, and plans of reorganization.
• Prepare means tests, repayment plans, reaffirmation agreements, amendments, and related filings.
• Prepare complete 341 meeting and hearing packets, including trustee-required documentation.
• Communicate with clients, trustees, courts, and creditors to collect documents and move cases forward.
• Use platforms such as BestCase and Clio to maintain case accuracy and track progress.
• Stay ahead of deadlines and ensure cases run smoothly from start to finish.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum 3 years of recent bankruptcy paralegal experience.
• Direct experience with Chapters 7 and 13 required.
• Chapter 11 experience required; Subchapter 5 strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with BestCase, Clio, Microsoft Office, and Adobe.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases independently in a remote environment.
