Power Trading Solutions Consultant - Remote

Overview

As a member of the EMEA Solutions team at Energy Exemplar, the focus of this role is to support our power trading customer base and prospects. The ideal candidate will bring a strong combination of expertise in fundamental market modelling and a deep understanding of trading operations. The candidate must be fluent in “trader speak” and possess a solid grasp of how traders utilise market insights and modelling outputs to make real-time and strategic decisions.

• Act as a trusted advisor to power trading customers.
• Lead requirements gathering sessions with trading teams.
• Design and implement innovative modelling approaches using PLEXOS.
• Provide guidance on industry best practices for market modelling.
• Analyse modelling outputs with customers.
• Develop, test, and calibrate models for actionable insights.
• Train trading teams to effectively use PLEXOS.
• Conduct market research and provide thought leadership on emerging trends.

Requirements

• Knowledge of electricity markets and power trading.
• A tertiary degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Economics, or similar.
• Knowledge of PLEXOS or other optimization tools.
• 5-7 years’ experience in energy markets.
• Experience in energy market supply and demand modelling.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Strong interpersonal presence and skills.
• Proficient with corporate productivity and web presentation tools.
• Experience with Stack Modelling.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
