Overview

Earthjustice’s Office of General Counsel is seeking a Temporary Counsel, Conflicts & Lobbying Compliance. This position is designed to fill in temporarily for a staff member on leave and will not lead to permanent employment at Earthjustice. The employer of record for this role will be an external staffing agency, and pay for this role will be processed through that agency.

In Short

• Conduct research on laws governing lobbying.
• Advise and assist Earthjustice attorneys and staff regarding lobbying.
• Support the development of policies related to lobbying compliance.
• Audit/revise lobbying registrations and reports.
• Advise on professional responsibility matters.
• Identify and resolve conflicts of interest.
• Conduct research on professional responsibility matters.
• 5+ years of relevant experience required.
• Remote or hybrid work options available.

Requirements

• JD required.
• Active law license in good standing.
• Non-profit experience required.
• Knowledge of lobbying laws.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to handle multiple matters simultaneously.
• Demonstrated integrity and sound judgement.
• Awareness of diverse cultures and backgrounds.
• Prior experience with conflicts of interest preferred.
