Fall 2025 Legal Externship – Northeast Regional Office - Remote

Overview

Earthjustice’s Northeast Regional Office is accepting applications for 1-2 part-time legal externs for fall 2025. We are seeking current law students who share a passion for justice and a healthy environment, and who are eligible to receive academic credit or fulfill a graduation requirement through this externship.

• Part-time legal externship for fall 2025.
• Work remotely or on a hybrid schedule.
• Tasks include legal research and writing.
• Develop case strategy and prepare legal documents.
• Meet with clients and participate in court proceedings.
• Unpaid position requiring academic credit.
• Commitment of 12-20 hours per week for 10-16 weeks.
• Qualifications include being a 2L or 3L law student.
• Excellent writing and research skills required.
• Interest in environmental protection preferred.

Requirements

• Enrolled in law school as a 2L or 3L during fall 2025.
• Must be eligible for academic credit.
• Commitment of 12-20 hours per week.
• Excellent writing, research, analytical and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with legal research tools, including Westlaw.
• Strong work ethic and initiative.
• Ability to work collegially and independently.
• Interest in environmental protection preferred.
• Knowledge of environmental law is a plus.
