Overview

Earthjustice’s Washington, DC Regional Office is accepting applications for one full- or part-time legal extern for fall 2025. We are seeking current law students who share a passion for justice and a healthy environment.

In Short

• Full- or part-time legal externship for fall 2025
• Remote or hybrid work options available
• Work under the supervision of licensed attorneys
• Involves drafting pleadings, legal research, and attending court proceedings
• Commitment of at least 12 hours per week
• Must be enrolled in law school as a 2L or 3L
• Excellent writing and analytical skills required
• Knowledge of environmental law is a plus
• Unpaid position requiring academic credit

Requirements

• Enrolled in law school as a 2L or 3L during fall 2025
• Eligible for academic credit or graduation requirement
• Excellent writing, research, analytical and organizational skills
• Strong work ethic and initiative
• Ability to work independently and collegially
• Knowledge of environmental and administrative law is a plus
