Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer - Remote

Overview

This position can be 100% remote, but must be located in the United States. Dynavax is a commercial-stage biopharmaceutical company developing and commercializing novel vaccines to help protect the world against infectious diseases. We operate with the highest level of quality, integrity and safety for the betterment of public health. Our proprietary CpG 1018 adjuvant powers our diversified infectious vaccine portfolio, which includes HEPLISAV-B®, our commercial product approved in the U.S. and the European Union, for prevention of hepatitis B virus in adults. We also supply CpG 1018 to research collaborations and partnerships globally. Currently, CpG 1018 is being used in development of COVID-19, plague, shingles, and Tdap vaccines.

In Short

• Oversee and direct accounting and financial reporting.
• Lead the finance department of the company’s German subsidiary.
• Act as primary liaison with external auditors.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and SOX.
• Manage treasury and corporate insurance.
• Drive process improvements in financial operations.
• Support corporate development and business projects.
• Lead and develop finance staff.
• Collaborate with senior executives and stakeholders.
• Occasional travel required.

Requirements

• CPA required.
• 15+ years' experience in accounting/finance.
• 3+ years in life science industry at publicly traded company.
• Previous Big Four audit experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Robust technical experience in accounting and tax.
• Proven leadership in finance roles.
• Expertise in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Integrity and ethics are essential.
• Ability to perform office-related tasks.
