Overview

As Legal Counsel with payments and fintech experience, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the legal framework for Deel’s global regulatory, fintech and licensing operations across the Company.

In Short

• Establish and maintain the legal framework for global payments operations.
• Serve as the primary legal advisor for our financial and payment services.
• Act as the main legal liaison for our payment product teams.
• Develop and implement scalable legal and compliance processes.
• Provide guidance on and track new laws and regulations affecting payment services.
• Facilitate the legal movement of employees across borders for business travel.

Requirements

• 5+ years experience as a qualified lawyer.
• 1-2 years of experience in the legal aspects of the payments industry.
• JD, LLB, LLM, or equivalent qualification.
• Fluency in English; additional language skills are advantageous.
• Demonstrated interest in payments and regulatory consulting.
• Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams.
• Eagerness for navigating complex regulatory environments.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with flexibility and a strong work ethic.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities.
