Switchgear Operator - Remote

Overview

The Switchgear Operator is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing electrical systems and equipment, ensuring safe operation and compliance with electrical codes.

In Short

• Maintain and repair electrical systems and equipment.
• Interact with Memphis Light, Gas & Water for facility operations.
• Install and repair wiring and electrical fixtures.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical circuit issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of materials and labor.
• Respond to emergency calls as needed.
• Inspect jobs upon completion for safety and cleanliness.
• Demonstrate commitment to a Safety First Environment.

Requirements

• Current Journeyman Commercial/Industrial license.
• Certified training on NFPA 70E.
• Experience with Smart Grid Systems.
• Knowledge of Wonderware software and EATON systems.
• One year of experience with medium voltage Power System Protection.
• Understanding of Single One Line Diagrams.
• Ability to restore service of critical equipment.
• Familiarity with UPS and Standby generators.
• Ability to follow established safety procedures.
• Strong problem-solving skills in electrical systems.
