Operating Engineer - Remote

Overview

The Operating Engineer is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment and systems for assigned properties, while maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

In Short

• Perform plumbing, electrical, and HVAC requirements.
• Maintain heating equipment, chillers, pumps, and air distribution systems.
• Monitor and adjust mechanical equipment and control gauges.
• Conduct preventive maintenance duties per C&W standards.
• Inspect engine room and cooling tower equipment.
• Respond to emergency situations and customer concerns.
• Document and report activities to supervisor.
• Comply with safety training and building protocols.
• Maintain a neat appearance in line with uniform dress code.
• May require shift work and on-call duties.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• 5+ years of related work experience.
• Appropriate license/permit for trade.
• Basic computing skills (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Knowledge of energy management systems.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Must have good communication skills.
• Ability to read and understand schematics.
• Experience in operation and maintenance of HVAC and plumbing systems.
• Flexibility to work extended hours during emergencies.
