Operating Engineer - Remote

Overview

The Operating Engineer role involves maintaining, monitoring, and performing preventive maintenance on all building systems, ensuring proper operation of critical equipment, and overseeing contractor activities within the facility.

In Short

• Maintain and monitor building systems including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on critical equipment.
• Record operational readings and make necessary adjustments.
• Install and repair plumbing, electrical controls, and mechanical systems.
• Ensure compliance with safety and emergency procedures.
• Oversee contractor activities within the building.
• Maintain accurate engineering logs and data sheets.
• Provide excellent internal and external customer service.
• Work in a data center/critical facility environment.
• Participate in ongoing training and compliance efforts.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Hands-on experience in a data center or critical facility.
• Operating Engineers license or equivalent.
• Certification as a Universal Technician for CFC’s (or within 90 days).
• Working knowledge of computer applications including Word and Excel.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven record of excellent customer service.
• Ability to analyze system operations and troubleshoot issues.
• Experience with critical facility equipment such as UPS systems and generators.
