Overview

As a Security Operations Engineer II at Credit Acceptance, you will play a crucial role in understanding, mitigating, and responding to security threats, leveraging your technical expertise to transform raw data into valuable information for the organization.

In Short

• Work from home with occasional travel to Southfield, Michigan.
• Collaborate with senior security team members on security tools and vulnerability management.
• Support incident detection and response in a 24/7 SOC environment.
• Assist in building SIEM dashboards and automation tools.
• Identify and analyze threats using various intelligence sources.
• Participate in on-call rotations, including nights and weekends.
• Produce reports and briefings on potential attacks.
• Develop and test SOC playbooks and detection rules.
• Contribute to modernization efforts to minimize risk.
• Maintain compliance with policies and legal guidelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in cyber security or related fields.
• Experience with security tools and vulnerability management workflows.
• Understanding of incident response processes and risk management.
• Knowledge of common security threats and mitigation strategies.
• Familiarity with the MITRE ATT&CK Framework.
• Ability to produce formal and informal reports.
• Experience with EDR or IDS/IPS monitoring tools.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
