Overview

The Grant Specialist II plays a critical role in managing the lifecycle of sponsored projects, ensuring compliance with sponsor guidelines and facilitating successful proposal submissions.

In Short

  • Support faculty and staff during the pre-award stage of sponsored projects.
  • Manage proposal preparation and submission processes.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and university regulations.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for grant-related information.
  • Track and maintain records of grants submitted and awarded.
  • Assist with special projects as requested by senior leadership.
  • Prepare and review agency forms for submission.
  • Work with Principal Investigators to compile grant submissions.
  • Manage budgeting and justification for proposals.
  • Maintain an online database of grant activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years of relevant experience in grant administration.
  • Knowledge of Research Management Systems (RMS) and SUBS.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage deadlines and maintain composure under pressure.
  • Experience with budgeting and financial analysis.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
  • Understanding of agency guidelines and compliance regulations.
