Coder Certified - Surgery - Remote

Overview

The Coder Certified position involves reviewing medical record documentation to determine appropriate billing codes and necessary documentation for surgical cases.

In Short

• Review medical records for accurate coding.
• Code evaluations and management to appropriate CPT codes.
• Meet with physicians to resolve documentation issues.
• Assist coders with medical terminology and policy interpretation.
• Prepare case reports for the billing process.
• Work in a normal office environment.
• Maintain knowledge of coding standards and practices.
• Participate in efforts to increase physician awareness of documentation requirements.
• Follow up on unsigned dates of service.
• Provide support for the billing process.

Requirements

• Must have one of the required coding credentials (AHIMA or AAPC).
• No specific work experience required.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding preferred.
• Computer systems proficiency.
• Understanding of medical billing and coding.
• Familiarity with medical terminology.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
